She Won’t Stop Traveling Until She Finds Out Who Murdered Her Dad
Madison McGhee is striding through the convention center of the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, ducking and dodging fans who are seeking out selfies, signatures, and a moment to offer condolences for her murdered father. A sweatshirt that reads “Snitch Ass Daddy” is draped on her shoulders, flapping as she makes a beeline back to her booth.
This is her second year at CrimeCon, an annual true-crime convention for fans, experts, and podcasters to talk all things murder, mystery, and forensics. Madison is at CrimeCon as both a podcaster and an advocate for her dad, John “JC” Cornelius McGhee. The 45-year-old was killed in the doorway of his home in Bridgeport, Ohio, a single gunshot wound to the head, in the early hours of July 11, 2002. Madison was just six years old at the time and living with her mother, who was separated from JC. The case has remained unsolved for the last 22 years. Read the rest of the story on Thrillist.
